Prized Peony

Hello and welcome to my blog.

I hope you are all well and staying safe. Australia hasn't been hit as hard as other countries with COVID-19 but I am sending out my love to all those in Victoria who are currently in stage 4 lock down. Stay safe my friends.

So, today is blog hop day with fellow demonstrators around the world. You may be starting here or have come from another blog - either way you can find the link list at the bottom of this post so that you can see every blog post and idea today.

I am excited about today's project as I designed the box. I have been busy behind the scenes designing different boxes and have more ideas to follow up on. I am just putting the finishing touches to the PDF for each box.

My projects today are using the Peony Gardens DSP along with the small flower from the Prized Peony Bundle. I am a little partial to the colour grey but I am pretty sure that the box and the card are two different greys!! LOL...I started with the box first and that is Granite Gray and it wasn't until I was photographing these two that I realised my mistake - I must have grabbed Smoky Slate cardstock for the card - oops! That's okay. You can see that the pattern paper goes with either grey!

I kept the card in the same style as the box incorporating the same dies, ribbon, flower and pattern paper. Everything matches and I like to have things matchy, matchy! LOL. Looking at the picture, I now think that the flower is a bit too high - I may have to move it down.

I almost forgot to show you - it is a little hard to see here but I have coloured the flower with my wink of stella so it is all sparkly. The only thing that is coloured are the leaves. As with the box, I used the Sublte embossing folder on the grey die cut layer and sponged around the edge with basic grey ink and a dauber.

You can see the dimension here. I used wide strips of foam adhesive sheets under the whisper white layer and used regular dimensionals under the grey layer with the sentiment.

Now for my box! I designed it to fit Clear Block H but have discovered it also will fit the Small Bloom Punch size of punch (it is a snug fit though) but you can put anything inside the box - chocolates, lollies (candy) etc. One end of the box is glued shut while the other is held closed by the ribbon.

I used the smallest Hippo & Friends dies to cut out this tag (the card has the larger one), although it is not really a tag (just looks like it on this project), then I placed it in the Subtle embossing folder and ran it through my die cutting machine. Sadly, I don't have the new Stampin' Cut & Emboss machine - yet! LOL

Thank you so much for coming by today! There is an amazing line up of Stampin' Up!® demonstrators from around the world, and I know you are going to love all the amazing projects that you are going to see today. Don't miss one blog link.
