Vellum Poppies & a Sneak Peak Stamp Set

Hello and welcome to my blog.

Today, I am using the Painted Poppies Bundle from the 2020 Mini catalogue.
Painted Poppies Bundle (#153827)

I am loving using vellum. You don't always have to colour the vellum. In the two cards below, I have used the two flowers in the Painted Poppies stamp set as well and the big splat - that is what I am calling it. The splat I stamped in Melon Mambo on the whisper white layer and using a dimensional in the center of the flowers (right behind the white embossed center), I adhered it on top of the splat. The splat is too big for the smaller flower though so the card on the left, I added some Wink of Stella to it.

With this card, I used the Peaceful Poppies Elements for the leaves and the scallop black layer. When I started, I knew I was going to make 2 cards and I thought they were going to be exactly the same. I stamped the larger flower with Versamark ink and the smaller flower too. I didn't take any notice how many times I stamped each flower but I ended up with around 3 of each and heat embossed with white embossing powder. Then I started playing with the black elements and I liked both the scallop and the banner. So my cards evolved.

The black scallop layer comes embossed and just look at it! The leaves are also embossed on water colour paper so all I have to do is....well, colour them using my aqua painter! Easy! I have used Granny Apple Green ink pad. This seems to be my go to leaf colour. What is yours?

This is the second card. I have coloured the small flower in with my Wink of Stella Glitter Brush. The vellum flowers are from the Peaceful Poppies Elements that I have coloured with Granny Apple Green Stampin' Blends.

See the shimmer on the small flower? It is a little hard to photograph.

You can also see that embossing on the black layer around the edge. I inked the sentiment (a sneak peak of a stamp set coming in the new Annual catalogue in June) with Versamark ink and heat embossed white embossing powder.

You can see the white embossing lines on the leaf and coloured it with Granny Apple Green Stampin' Blends.
