Here is the project that I have made for our hop today.
I am breaking away from my usual colours (pinks) and starting to use other colours lately. Yellows, blues, purple and even greens! As you can see, today is purple...Highland Heather to be precise. I have even stamped on vellum! GASP!! I stamped in Versamark Ink and embossed with white embossing powder.
If you are wondering how I coloured on the vellum...wonder no more! With my Blends, I coloured on the back side. This makes the colour more subtle. I started with the light highland heather and colour the whole flower, then the dark highland heather around the middle of the flower for shading. The same with the leaves which I coloured with granny apple green blends. Start with the light, then shade with the dark.
Here you can see the shading a bit better. I am in no way an expert in colouring, but just go for it. I also used the 3D Stone embossing folder to create some texture to the card.
I have raised the Magnolia using mini dimensionals and placed them behind the white embossed image.
Thanks for visiting and have a great day.
Happy Crafting,
