Hello and welcome to my blog.
Not my usual style of card but I am challenging myself to step out of my comfort zone and away from the florals. LOL Masculine cards are out of my comfort zone and I know a lot of people struggle with them. I hope this provides some inspiration for you.
I first thought this was a feather...but no, it is a quill from the Beautiful World bundle. I stamped these in early espresso and soft suede ink. The sentiment is from Ornate Thanks stamp set - also stamped in early espresso ink. I thought I would keep to the brown colour and I could have used the early espresso colour for all the quills, but the soft suede just breaks it up and makes it not so dark. I also used the Old World 3D Embossing Folder and sponged it with early espresso ink - just on the raised bits of the cardstock.
You can see here how I have sponged the raised bits as they are darker.
I raised the quills with dimensionals and also added dimensionals to the sentiment. It can be a little tricky to adhere things to the embossed layer as the raised bits are so random and also uneven that I found dimensionals to be the best adhesive.
