In Good Taste Card & Box

Hello and welcome to my blog.

I had a lovely day out on Wednesday with a friend - first time I have been out for lunch since before COVID started! Spring is not far away and the weather has been beautiful. Still a little chilly overnight but the days have been nice.

Here are my projects for today. I started with the box which I designed and thought, I'd best make a coordinating card too.

After making the box, but before decorating it, I started on the card. I have used the In Good Taste DSP pack and the one sheet did both projects.

For the card I ran the dsp through the Old World Paper 3D embossing folder using the Cut & Emboss machine. The balloons come from the cute Hippo Happiness bundle and the sentiment is from the Peaceful Moments stamp set and is cut out using the Ornate Frames dies. The two slots on either side are dies also from Hippo & Friends.

You know I like to add dimension to my projects, so I raised the sentiment. I wrapped the Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon around twice going through the slots I made using the die and tied the ribbon in a nice big bow.

I ran a sponge dauber inked with early espresso ink around the edge of the dsp. It gives the impression that there is a layer of cardstock behind the dsp.

As I said at the start of this post....I made this box first. I didn't think of running the dsp through the embossing folder at this stage and well, I hadn't even thought of the card yet, so this looks a little different to the card but it still coordinates.

Just look at this guy! The stamp set is photopolymer (clear) so you can see where you are stamping. This sheep comes in three pieces. The darker shade which is the full strength of early espresso ink, the lighter shade which stamps over the dark shade and then his face. I found it easier to stamp the dark shade first, that way I could line up the next stamp.

I raised Mr Sheep up and added some balloons as this is a gift box after all. I attached Linen Thread behind the balloons with glue dots, then wrapped that around the dimensional underneath the sheep.

Here is what I made this box for - an ink pad! If you would you like to gift someone an ink pad, this is the perfect gift box. If you have put together boxes before, then this one is simple. I haven't had a chance to film a tutorial as yet. I still have a 4 year old at home who loves to sing to Paw Patrol! LOL. I am not sure how much of me you would be able to hear over Miss 4!
