Painted Poppies - Thanks

Hello and welcome to my blog.

We have had a busy weekend, catching up with friends for a BBQ yesterday. My eldest had his school friend over to finish an assessment they were doing together for one of their classes, so he also stayed for the BBQ. The sun was shining and we had the windows open to get some much needed fresh air through the house - although I did have my warm clothes on still because it is winter here. LOL

My card today was inspired by a card in the Aug-Dec Mini Catalogue. I wouldn't normally put pattern paper together like this but I am thinking I will from now on.

I used the 2020-2022 In Colour 6"x6" DSP Pack (Misty Moonlight & Bumblebee). The sentiment is from Ornate Thanks stamp set. The sentiment piece I cut at an angle - I see a number of people doing this and I like it.

I stamped the poppies in Misty Moonlight ink then, without re-inking I stamped two more times. I then stamped the poppies in Bumblebee ink over the top. This stamp is red rubber and there is no way I could see where I was stamping but I managed to stamp almost in the same spot so it looks like a shadow effect.  I could not do that again if I tried! My 10 year old daughter asked why I stamped in green! LOL. You see her point though?

Everything except the sentiment is adhered to the card base so the only dimension is the sentiment layers. The ribbon is adhered with a glue dot.

I hope you enjoyed seeing today's project. If you have any questions, ask away.
