Coming Home Gingerbread House

Hello and welcome to my blog.

I watched Erica Cerwin - Pink Buckaroo (USA Demo) who is currently doing a 12 days of Christmas Facebook Lives and she used the Coming Home stamp set to for her gingerbread houses.

I confess, I did not think of gingerbread houses when I saw the stamp set. I just saw - cuteness! I used my soft suede stampin blends for the roof tiles. I cut the roof piece 5cm x 8cm (scoring at 4cm). I did glue the roof on first and then thought it looked too plain, so my lines are not straight but neither are roof tiles.

As you can see, I glued down one side of the roof so that you could access the goodies. It won't fit much but I am sure you could find something - marshmallow, chocolate.

I used the ribbon to hold the roof closed as it does tend to lift a little. To make the box, cut a piece of cardstock to measure 8cm x 8cm and score 2cm on all 4 sides. Put together like a normal box base. For this particular house stamp, one side needs to be 4cm but you make the other side as short or as long as you like.

You can see how small the house is in my hand. It is just so cute.

This is the smallest house in the stamp set. I cut the box base 7cm x 5cm, scoring at 1.5cm on all 4 sides. This is a rectangle base. For the roof, I cut a piece of cardstock to measure 4.5cm x 5cm and I embossed it with the wrapped in texture embossing folder.
