Post-it Note & Box Gifts

Hello and welcome to my blog.

Continuing on from my previous post, here are the 'gifts' that went along with the beautiful Christmas card.

Post-it notes are used a lot. I know I use them when creating. They are great for holding a die in the right place because we all hate it when it moves just as you are running it through your die cutting machine. Grrrr. So why not dress up a Post-it note and give it as a gift. They are easy to cover ... you just need a few measurements. The square ones are usually 3" x 3" (7.5cm x 7.5cm). Don't forget to add the top (depth) measurement. Now, this can vary but on mine it is 1/2" (1.1cm). So in total, the length of the cardstock should be 3" + 1/2" + 3" (7.5cm + 1.1cm + 7.5cm) and width will be 3" (7.5cm).

Next is the box. It's a drop fronted box. Drop what, I hear you say. All measurements and even a video of how to make and assemble this box can be found on Pootles blog (Sam Donald, UK SU! Demo) HERE. I LOVE watching Sam's videos and have watched them for years. Please go and check out her blog if you don't already know who she is.

I have a candle inside mine, but you can use anything you like. You can fit 3 metallic threads, embossing powders, 3 shimmer paints ... you decide. At the time I took this photo, I only had Whisper White Solid Bakers Twine to hand. It's white and it coordinates, but it doesn't really 'go' with the box. Keep reading to see what other ribbons I managed to use. I had to wait for my order to be delivered. We are nearing the end of the school year, so this might just be my gift for 4 of my kids at school to give to their teachers.

So, here is the other ribbons I used. Silly me, I forgot to retake the photo after I got the Polka Dot Ribbon and then I completely forgot that I had the Diagonal Stripe Ribbon. So now you've got them side by side ... you decide which one you like best.

I hope you have enjoyed seeing these projects. I have had fun making them.
